Some organisations are complex; multiple operating entities, complicated matrix reporting lines, challenging cultures, global footprint etc. On this occasion our client had the lot(!), and that meant some real challenges for their HR leadership team. At OpCo level there was a need for a resilient, experienced and credible HR Director to come in and steady the ship… which was where we came in.
What we did
The senior HR interim space is a fascinating place in which to operate; as a trusted recruitment partner to many mid-to-large corporates our network of interim HR leaders is both broad and deep, and it’s something we’ve built up over time. With the sort of relationships we foster we get to hear lots about difficult situations, challenging assignments and tough environments. When we took this particular brief the lightbulb came on quickly and a handful of names came to mind; great people with the perfect balance of expertise and gravitas to manage anything thrown at them.
We presented a few people to our client at the end of a busy week of meetings and calls; at an £800/day rate the client was expecting a very strong shortlist… and we hit the mark. Interviews were arranged for various venues across the UK (it’s a complex business!) and diaries were managed carefully. The successful candidate went on to spend a year with the business and leave it in a totally different – and far more positive – space. We were happy we could help.
