Project Manager required by a household name in the South East of Cardiff to deliver its required products within specified and agreed tolerances for cost, time and quality and that the benefits defined in an agreed business case can be delivered. This role will focus on technical project delivery and provide technical consultation to Retail Project team.

Key Responsibilities:

*Provide technical expertise in the direction of system/technical change
*Ensure that the project has an agreed definition to an appropriate level of detail that is consistent with its business case.
*To control the project once authorised to progress by the Project Board.
*To close the project in a controlled manner.

Depending upon the size and scope of the project the Project Manager may be assisted to a greater or lesser extent by a Project Support function or the Project Assurance function. However, the work is achieved the Project Manager must take direct personal responsibility for at least the following activities:

*Act as a central support for direction on all system projects/impacting activities within Retail
*Contribute to the maintenance of Retail systems roadmap, identifying potential impacts and opportunities for consideration
*Preparing the Project Definition Document and its components (Risk Management, Quality Management, Communications Management and Configuration Management Plans).
*Preparing the Project, Stage and Exception Plans.
*Creating and maintaining the Issue, Risk and Change Request Registers.
*Creating and maintaining the Daily and Lessons Logs.
*Maintaining project and stage level plans and schedules.
*Producing the project and stage level reports (Project Status Report, End Stage Report, End Project Report, Lessons Report).
*Organising and running Checkpoint and Project Board meetings.
*Securing and filing in the project control system appropriately documented approvals for completion of project stages or key deliverables and for authorisations to proceed with project stages (and hence incur expenditure).

Required Experience:

*Previous Project Manager experience. Ideally using PMI/ PRINCE2 or other structured workstream delivery methodology
*Previous experience managing IT change projects
*Strong written and oral communication skills and an open communication style with the ability to ideas of new ways of working to improve business efficiency
*Strong customer service orientation.
*Experience of working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
*Being able to develop information in concise reports and provide it to others

This excellent role is a two-year fixed term contract paying £40 - 50,000 p/a and you will also receive the following benefits, a generous pension plan, 25 days annual leave plus public holidays and an annual variable pay scheme (Bonus).
