Full-stack .NET Developer required by a market leading Business Process Outsourcing firm to be based in Chorley. As a developer you will be required to participate in the specification and implementation of changes to existing systems and to provide support for issues raised in existing client solutions.

The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of the full SDLC including; eliciting requirements; producing documentation; participating in design and architectural decisions, development across the full stack of Microsoft Technologies from back end to the UI layer of both Web and Windows Forms applications; testing and maintenance and support related activities.

Key Accountabilities:

*Participate in the design of large and/or complex programs and program modifications from supplied or self-generated program specifications using agreed standards and tools, to achieve a well-engineered result.
*Creates and amends programs in accordance with the design
*Creates program specifications for small/simple programs
*Prepares test data.
*Assist in the production of functional and technical specifications for software changes as required.
*Takes a logical, analytical approach to problem solving and pays close attention to detail.
*Plans, designs and conducts tests of programs; correct errors and re-tests to achieve error-free results.
*Documents all work in accordance with agreed standards
*Takes part in reviews of supplied specifications, with others, e.g. walkthroughs
*Assists in defining, planning and justifying (in business terms) projects to develop and implement automated and non-automated components of new or changed processes.
*Takes part in evaluations and reviews of programming methods, tools and standards.
*Actively participates in team meetings, release planning and sprint planning meetings

Essential Skills & Experience:

*Minimum 48 months commercial experience in C#
*Hands on day to day experience in Systems Development and Maintenance
*Proven and demonstrable track record in delivering solutions that meet the client requirements and are delivered on-time to scope
*Is familiar with the software engineering life cycle for development and the concepts and practices required to implement effective information systems
*C# - Microsoft .NET Framework v4.0+
*Experience of developing applications using Windows Forms and ASP.NET MVC 5 and greater
*Knowledge of Web, CSS and JavaScript frameworks including but not limited to; Bootstrap, jQuery, jQuery Validate, Knockout.js, Angular, AJAX, MS Identity and TypeScript
*Experience of developing RESTful Web Services using ASP.NET WEB API
*Experience of Unit testing using automated unit testing frameworks
*RDBMS/SQL skills, specifically Microsoft SQL Server 2014 and greater
*Experience of using Agile development methods
*Knowledge and practical experience of designing and developing system using object oriented design and programming techniques
*Experience of producing technical specifications.
*Excellent client facing skills
*Development Tools - Microsoft Visual Studio
*SQL Server Management Studio
*Team Foundation Server 2015

Desirable Skills & Experience:

*Possesses some knowledge of business and business functions, in one or more business sectors.
*Experience within the finance sector
*Has a good appreciation of the wider field of development outside their own specialisation.
*Experience of DevOps, CI & CD
*Knowledge of Dependency Injection frameworks
*Experience of technologies made available as part of the Microsoft Azure offering
*Experience of using Red Gate SQL Source Control
*.NET Core experience
*Ability to produce detailed test plans and test documentation
*Knowledge of VB6
