Role: IT Support Senior Technician

Artis are partnering with an award winning engineering company who are based in north Bristol. We are recruiting for an IT Support Senior Technician to join their friendly and hardworking IT team. This is a varied and fast-paced position providing vital support to the firm, providing 1st and 2nd line IT support.

Main Responsibilities

*Provide 1st line and 2nd line, hands-on and remote support for issues raised by staff in the Bristol office working to SLA thresholds
*Raise incidents, service requests, changes and problems using the Hornbill service desk gathering appropriate detail to aid troubleshooting and resolution
*Troubleshoot and resolve incidents, problems and service requests escalated from 1st line service desk staff in other offices working to SLA thresholds
*Answering calls and emails for the IT Service Desk.
*Install approved software
*Provide basic application support for users, to show how to use the software or particular functions
*Autodesk licencing incl. BIM 360
*Licence reporting
*CAD / BIM Assessments (knowledgesmart)
*Autodesk software update
*Autodesk software deployment (SCCM) + SCCM app development
*Revit server administration


*A clear, concise and friendly telephone/deskside manner is critical, as well as the ability to prepare written material that is understandable, and well structured.
*Excellent 1st line support/client care skills.
*Minimum of 2 years' experience working in an IT support role.
*Experience working in a 2nd line IT Support line position.
*Excellent troubleshooting skills using appropriate tools such as ping, gpresult and the windows event logs
*Educated to AS level, BTEC, or NVQ level 3 in an IT related subject
*Be familiar with PC hardware. Experience with Dell hardware would be particularly beneficial
*Experience of working with Windows 7 / 10 in a corporate environment
*Experience resolving issues with software products including but not limited to
*Word, Excel, Lync/Skype for Business, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet Explorer, VPN, Antivirus, Wi-Fi
*Must be willing to commute to other offices on occasion. Full UK driving licence and own vehicle is essential for the role.
*You will have the ability to prioritise calls and workload and have strong personal organisation skills
*Familiarity with ITIL processes and experience of using ITIL compliant service desk software
*Experience of account administration using Active Directory and Exchange control panel

*Although training will be provided, any exposure to the below would be a distinct advantage.
*Experience with PC Imaging software. Windows Deployment Server / Microsoft deployment toolkit would be of particular benefit
*Familiarity with Group Policy administration / implementation
*Familiarity with Autodesk and other engineering products
*Experience using and administering Hornbill Service Manager
*Experience providing remote support using Microsoft System Centre Configuration Manager
*Experience with room based Video conferencing equipment. Preferably Polycom or Lync/Skype for business
*Experience using Symantec/Veritas Personal Archive
*Experience using Bluebeam Revu PDF creator software
*Experience providing typical helpdesk functions for Swivel PINSafe
*Experience supporting remote VPN user.
*Familiarity with mobile device management using Mobile Iron
*Experience using Apple iPhone /iPad products
*An ITIL certification
*PBX administration. (Lync/Skype for business or Alcatel)
*Experience using backup products (Backup Exec or Comvault Simpana preferable)
