IT Security Engineer Required by market leading, professional services organisation based in Central Bristol (5-6 minute walk from Bristol Temple Meads Station). The IT Security Engineer will provide IT Security Support to our clients users and third party suppliers.

Required duties of the IT Security Engineer:

*Attending offices around the UK from time to time to provide on-site diagnosis and support, and to undertake planned and unplanned maintenance and project tasks
*Responding to emails and requests logged via the IT Service Management tool
*Updating all incidents and service requests assigned to the IT Infrastructure & Applications Team in the ITSM tool, ensuring appropriate detail is captured and updated through the lifecycle of each incident or request in accordance IT Service Delivery Team standards and procedures
*Dealing with incidents and service requests effectively in order to meet individual and team SLAs, OLAs and KPIs
*Acting as the point of escalation from the IT Service Delivery Team to resolve incidents and service requests
*Investigating incidents and using the knowledgebase and documentation to troubleshoot and to provide resolutions or workarounds in order minimise the impact on the individual and the business
*Escalating incidents and service requests to third party suppliers as required and managing the supplier to ensure the incident or service request is resolved
*Escalating incidents and service requests to the IT Infrastructure & Applications Team Leader, the IT Infrastructure & Applications Manager or to the appropriate individual, team leader, manager or another team where the incident or service request cannot be resolved by the IT Infrastructure & Applications Team
*Undertaking operational tasks to ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of all IT services:
*Monitoring anti-malware tools, firewalls, IDS/IPS systems, DLP tools, anti-spam and web-filtering tools, vulnerability scan results, logs and all other IT security-related tools & technologies to identify and investigate potential and actual security incidents
*Leading or participating in post-incident reviews to identify root causes and to develop remediation plans and implement additional / improved controls
*Maintaining threat awareness and communicating any significant developments to the IT Security Forum
*Working with the PMO, project teams and the IT Infrastructure & Applications Team to plan, test, implement the security requirements for all IT elements of projects as required by the IT Infrastructure & Applications Team Leader:

The IT Security Engineer must comply with the following by adhering to processes and procedures as advised by your line manager:

*Contractual and license agreements entered in to with clients and suppliers
*Other relevant standards or best practice

Required background of the IT Security Engineer

*Experience in a technical role in IT security, third line support or infrastructure / enterprise applications
*IDS/IPS, AV, DLP, Patching, MDM, etc.
*End-user compute security, including patching and anti-virus
*Good understanding of LAN/WAN networking technologies and firewalls
*Security incident response, diagnosis, resolution and remediation
*Experience in IT operational disciplines, e.g ITIL
*Creating and maintaining procedural documentation
*Hardware and software asset and Configuration Item management
*Substantial experience of operational support of technologies and services including some of: Microsoft desktop and server technologies, e.g. Windows Server Operating Systems, Windows Desktop Operating Systems (2007 - 2010), Microsoft Office, Microsoft Exchange, Skype for Business, Active Directory, Group Policy, SCCM, etc.
*Infrastructure and related services, e.g. VMWare (virtualisation and VDI), MimeCast, Symantec Anti-Virus, Palo Alto firewalls, Networking, Mitel Telephony, BES, Mobile Iron, Video Conferencing and Audio-Visual Equipment, etc.
*Experience of working with Cyber Essentials Plus

A basic salary to £40,000 p/a with an excellent benefits package which includes 25 days holiday (which will increase to 30 days based upon length of service), pension, cycle to work scheme and private medical insurance.
