Artis HR are currently supporting a fantastic business with the recruitment of a HR Advisor for an exciting business in North Somerset / South Bristol. This is a full time permanent post paying £23-25,000pa.

Job Purpose
As directed by the HR Business Partner provide HR administrative and advisory support in relation to all team member lifecycle matters including recruitment, onboarding, absence management, performance management, grievance and disciplinary matters. Advise managers on people matters and administer team member changes with appropriate policies, documentation and accurate updating of the HR information system.


*To take responsibility for the recruitment process within own business area, ensuring that all recruitment is correctly authorised and a meeting is held with all hiring managers at the beginning of every campaign to agree an attraction and selection strategy.
*Be proactive in designing and implementing a variety of recruitment and selection processes.
*To advise hiring managers on recruitment and selection issues, including development of role profiles and job adverts.
*To support managers with short- and long-term sickness absence. This includes producing and monitoring sickness management statistics, and providing support to managers with sickness issues liaising with HR Business Partner and Occupational Health as needed and supporting capability meetings.
*To support a performance management culture by developing managers' skills in this area through coaching and advising on capability/performance related issues.
*To support with disciplinary and grievance casework, ensuring legislation, policy and best practice are followed.
*To prepare regular and ad hoc management information reports, as agreed with service areas, to support continuous improvement in the management and monitoring of sickness absence and performance management.
*To deal with maternity, paternity, adoption and shared parental leave queries and documentation, and support managers with flexible working requests.
*Working with the HR Business Partner to improve processes, policies and procedures with the aim of providing a consistent approach to people matters.
*Undertake and provide the HR Business Partner with support for regular and adhoc project work to move the business and the People Team forward.
*To promote the completion of exit interviews for leavers, capture and report on information to disseminate to the senior leadership team.
*To oversee the issue of appropriate contractual documentation in relation to recruitment, terminations and variations of employment, including ensuring the accurate and timely notification to payroll and updating of our HR information system, Trent.
*To support and promote the effective use of Trent by managers and team members throughout the business, encouraging managers to self-serve.
*To keep up to date with developments in employment legislation and human resources best practice, knowledge sharing within the team to ensure continuous development and improvement in the service offered.
*To develop and maintain collaborative and productive relationships with HR colleagues, the People Team, all business areas and union representatives, establishing professional credibility and meeting the objectives of the wider HR team as well as the identified business area.
*To provide backfill cover to other areas of the People Team as and when necessary.
