Artis HR are currently supporting an exciting organisation in North Somerset with the recruitment of a Head of HR / HR Lead position, this is a permanent full time role offering Term Time only hours - Salary £45,859-48,847 FTE - The actual salary £42919.24

We are looking to appoint an innovative and experienced HR professional to do the right thing and lead the development and delivery of the HR function across our growing organisation. You will be working full time, five days a week, term time only. This is an exciting opportunity to influence the development of HR within an evolving and growing organisation.

You will work closely with the Chief Executive Officer as part of the leadership team to maximise people efficiencies, cost effectiveness and continuous improvement. You will lead HR and develop operational policies and practices. Using your extensive experience in people management you will grow our existing skilled and committed workforce to support our growth.

You will:
*be a chartered member of CIPD, qualified to level 7
*be an experienced HR professional with business acumen
*possess a good working knowledge of current employment legislation and a proven ability to apply this knowledge in practice
*be experienced in supporting change management processes including restructures and TUPE transfers

As Head of HR you will:
*contribute to and influence the strategic planning and use a range of evidence to evaluate key performance indicators
*take a diagnostic approach to identify areas of strength and those in need of development and plan and implement changes that improve outcomes, engage stakeholders and result in better practice
*work in a collaborative and 'solutions focused' way, taking a commercial and pragmatic approach to meet any challenges that arise
*develop and support management teams through change
*be motivated, proactive and brave

Reporting directly to the Head of Operations, this role is ideal for an experienced HR generalist who is now looking for a new challenge.

The Head of HR is the key contact for all employment related matters and will work closely with leadership trust-wide and therefore must have excellent communication skills, along with the ability to always maintain confidentiality. As part of this role, you will provide relevant training through

Senior Leadership
*Develop strategy, advise, challenge, and innovate at trust level as a member of the senior leadership team.
*Work with the Board, attend meetings and implement training as required.
*Work collaboratively across the trust to meet key objectives and ensure best practice.
Team Leadership
*Be the team lead for a high quality, efficient and effective Human Resources service covering the full range of HR disciplines, managing the complex and busy workload for the department as a whole.
*Delegate where appropriate to support and enhance service delivery and effectiveness.
Recruitment
*Ensure recruitment processes are effective, work well, are efficient and attract talent.
*Have or develop a strong working knowledge of the Safer Recruitment requirements and be able to implement these so that the trust is compliant at all times.
*Ensure that the Single Central Register (SCR) is up to date and inspection ready at all times.
*Review correct procedures are in place and records maintained in the processing of Disclosures through the Disclosure and Barring Service, along with all other checks required to be recorded on the SCR and meet the requirements of Keeping Children Safe in Education.
*Have responsibility as lead counter signatory for the trust DBS umbrella body status and oversee any visa issues for staff, both new and current, to ensure legal compliance.
Generalist HR
*Provide expert advice and support to senior leaders in dealing with employee issues, within defined policies and procedures, having regard for up to date employment legislation to support informed decision making.
*Work closely with senior and line managers, providing them with expert guidance and coaching in order to ensure a consistent, fair and ethical approach to people management
*Establish and maintain collaborative professional relationships both internally and externally and liaise with legal providers and unions as necessary on complex case management, as well as advise and support with disciplinary or grievance issues and any subsequent tribunal cases.
*Be an inspiring role model and excellent people manager with great collaborative and influencing skills, who can support the continuous development of the HR function within the trust.
*Regularly review all HR policies and procedures to ensure they are legally compliant, appropriate and in line with current best practice and are correctly upheld and interpreted.
*Liaise with trust leaders to oversee organisational development, reviewing needs for reduction or expansion, reorganisation or realignment of staffing structures, ensuring best HR practice at all stages.
*Support the development of employee restructuring plans and strategy documentation, defining scope, goals, tasks, timelines and resources, ensuring an appropriate outcome is reached meeting the needs of the business as well as involvement in project work and / or management of HR projects as required.
