Artis HR have been retained to identify a Head of People Services for a fantastic organisation based in North Bristol. Reporting into a Director of People and Organisational Development you will provide a first class, intuitive HR service across the organisation supporting and partnering operational teams, enabling them to focus on delivering an exceptional experience to the people supported. The People Services team provide the core people service, collaborating with operational areas and back office functions to ensure that people plans are developed in line with the strategy and delivered effectively and efficiently. Other key accountabilities will include:

Responsible for the establishment and ongoing improvement of the People Services Team - lead, manage and develop the team ensuring a customer centric approach to service delivery and effective use of the People Management Systems.
Directly managing the performance and development of the Business Partners, People Services Advisors, Payroll Manager and People Systems and Reporting Manager.
Establishing and leading the implementation of the Business Partner team into the business to deliver proactive people planning for our operational areas and back office functions.
Supporting and challenging the team, meeting regularly with HR Business Partners and Area Managers to ensure the service delivered to operational areas is impactful and continuously improving.
Delivering transactional people services that are high quality, customer centric, cost effective, efficient, contemporary and legally compliant.
Ensuring sufficient governance and assurance is in place to meet legal and regulatory standards across all disciplines in People Services.
Driving consistent application of HR/Payroll policy across the Trust ensuring policies reflect best practice, support employees and meet business needs.
Acting as general HR subject matter expert with direct involvement in operational HR cases where a greater level of seniority or experience is required. Provide coaching and advice to HR and managers.
Responding to the of escalation of complex or contentious ER cases.

The successful candidate will have a track record leading People Teams in complex organisations. You will have extensive, proven experience of successfully providing HR services to geographically diverse services and possess strong influencing skills and the ability to prioritise business requirements appropriately through a collaborative partnership approach. You will have experience of payroll services and making best use of HR technology and systems. In addition, you will have experience of leading, managing and motivating professional and transactional HR teams, setting objectives, measuring, monitoring and managing performance.
