Business Intelligence Analyst required by market leading retail sector organisation based in Bristol. This role will be split 50/50 onsite to remote with flexibility. The Business Intelligence Analyst will own the technical agenda for our clients data and reporting tools. The Business Intelligence Analyst will bring a strong technology focus through reporting systems expertise, and a passion for improving data structures, integrity and analytics that lead to improved business performance.

The Business Intelligence Analyst will work closely with the finance team to support and improve budgeting and forecasting processes, using SQL to manipulate complex datasets. The successful applicant will be the technical authority for reporting tools underpinned by the ERP and BI platforms, and lead the development of improved reports and dashboards.

Our clients focus for 2022 is going to be the implementation of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (BC) as they upgrade from Dynamics NAV 2009 R2 for which you will be involved. You will assist with changes to the BI platform and end-user reporting tools including Power BI and Jet Reports.

Required Experience:

  • High level of analytical and problem-solving skills, working with complex datasets.
  • Recent experience of working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in either Finance or Retail sectors.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to talk to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Good understanding of Data Warehouse concepts and technologies such as ETL processes, dimensional modelling, and reporting tools.
  • Good knowledge of SQL server (or equivalent) with development exposure to SQL server stack programs (SSAS, SSIS, SSRS).
  • Experience developing and deploying reports using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
  • Ability to produce intuitive Power BI dashboards and reports.
  • Experience with Power Platform technologies, including but not limited to Power Pivot and Power Query.
  • Ability to analyse and transform business requirements into proposed solutions and technical specifications.
  • Very strong Excel experience with strength in using multiple data sources within pivot tables.
  • Structured planning, organization and time management skills.
  • Keen interest in systems development and advances in technology.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV and Dynamics 365 Business Central.
  • Experience of working in a customs regulated environment.
  • Experience working with Agile methodologies.
  • Experience of operating within data management best practice frameworks.
