Assistant Buyer

Excellent opportunity for an experienced junior buyer to join a unique, vibrant company that has a family approach to their working culture whilst growing year on year.

The role will support the Business in range selection, assortment planning and supplier sourcing, and managing a portfolio of products and suppliers. A fast-paced buying mentality and an opportunity to take ownership of a category is needed. As the company is growing the position will expose you to several project opportunities as well as career development. You will have a proven track record of buying to be considered for the role.

The role:

  • Understand and take full ownership of the sales reports and range plans in your categories.
  • Look at the company’s critical path, understand, and follow.
  • Keep recorded analysis of range trends and season reviews.
  • Sourcing stock mid-season for certain ranges.
  • Managing stock health.
  • Assist with content that can be used for the web and researching products.
  • Looking at catalogue layouts, web layouts, range plans, and new product ranges.

The successful candidate will:

  • Previous experience in a Buying role is essential.
  • Excellent and effective verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Adaptable attitude towards change, opportunities, and project management as designated from time to time.
  • Excellent PC skills that include; Outlook, Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint.
  • Structured planning, organisation, and time management skills.
  • A team player who relishes the opportunity of working within an entrepreneurial environment and delivering results against challenging targets.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with procurement and/or category buying experience within the Food, FMCG, or retail sector that are looking to bring their knowledge and expertise to a new role.

    Role:

    Candidate

    • Educated to degree level or with MCIPS qualifications preferable.
    • Demonstrable sourcing and category buying experience, ideally within the food, FMCG, or retail sector.
    • Proven, solid influencing and negotiation skills.
    • Stakeholder management and personal development experience.
    • First-class personal, written, and verbal communication skills.
    • Experienced analytical skills.
