Procurement Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Procurement Specialist to join a leading manufacturer based in Gloucester. In this role, you will oversee sourcing, supplier management, and procurement activities to ensure cost efficiency, quality standards, and timely delivery of goods and services. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, excellent negotiation abilities, and a solid understanding of procurement best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sourcing and Vendor Management: Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with reliable suppliers to ensure high-quality goods and services.
  • Contract Negotiations: Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to achieve the best value for the business
  • Purchase Orders: Prepare and manage purchase orders, ensuring alignment with company policies and procedures.
  • Cost Optimisation: Analyse spending patterns and market trends to identify opportunities for cost savings.
  • Compliance and Documentation: Ensure procurement activities comply with legal requirements and organisational policies. Maintain accurate records of all transactions.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, supply chain, and logistics, to align procurement strategies with business goals.
  • Performance Monitoring: Evaluate supplier performance and address issues to maintain high standards of service.

Procurement Specialist experience and qualifications:

  • Supply Chain Management, CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) or equivalent qualification is preferred.
  • Demonstratable experience in procurement or strategic sourcing, with a proven track record in end-to-end procurement within a large organisation.
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience in contract management.
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and lead multiple sourcing projects concurrently.
