Head of Finance

Artis Accountancy & Finance is delighted to be partnering with a leading UK food manufacturer in the search for an experienced Head of Finance. This critical leadership role will oversee financial operations at a major production facility in the Newport area. The site plays a central role in supplying a diverse range of chilled food products to some of the UK’s most recognisable retailers and operates within a fast-paced, high-volume environment

About the Role
As Head of Finance, you will be a core part of the senior leadership team. Your responsibilities will span strategic planning, operational support, and financial governance. You’ll play a key role in driving performance, enabling growth, and ensuring the financial resilience of the site.

Head of Finance Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the on-site finance team, promoting a culture of excellence and accountability
• Deliver financial analysis and insights to support decision-making and drive profitability
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and reporting in collaboration with operational teams
• Ensure strong financial control, compliance, and alignment with group governance standards

About You

You are a commercially minded finance leader with experience in FMCG or complex manufacturing environments. You thrive in fast-paced, dynamic settings and have a proven ability to drive value, lead teams, and influence cross-functional stakeholders.

Essential:

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with 5+ years post-qualification experience
• Strong background in financial reporting and operational finance within manufacturing
• Commercially astute with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proven leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities

Desirable:

• Experience in chilled or short shelf-life product environments
• Exposure to lean finance or financial systems/process improvement initiatives
• Track record of leading teams through change and transformation
