Senior Buyer

My client is a market leader, looking to recruit a new Senior Buyer due to expanding the team. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong Engineering / Automotive sector / Construction procurement experience to join a busy team and drive supplier relationships and performance.

Senior Buyer Duties:

• Management of the purchase requisitions for timely placement of purchase orders and sub-contract orders for suppliers as required.
• Ensure appropriate quality instructions and customer requirements flow to suppliers
• Coordinate delivery status, communicate internally, and manage supplier recovery to support the business requirements.
• Risk Management with appropriate escalation.
• Manage supplier delivery performance and associated metrics.
• Hold regular supplier business reviews.
• Negotiate best cost and payment terms.
• Support supplier selection and assessment process.
• Work with the Procurement Manager to implement long-term agreements.
• Deputise for Procurement Manager when necessary
• Mentor and develop skills of buyers in the procurement team

Senior Buyer Candidate:

• Strong experience in aerospace purchasing/procurement (or equivalent regulated industry)
• Understanding of raw material, forgings, machining, supplier manufacturing processes, and treatments would be an advantage
• Trained in continuous improvement tools and techniques
• Excellent Excel skills
• Good project management skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong problem-solving ability
