My client is a global organisation looking to recruit a Category Manager who will be responsible for all indirect spend across their UK and European sites. This is a newly created role which would suit a proven indirect Category Management professional who is keen to join a growing business.

Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain you will define and implement the European purchasing strategy for indirect spend in their manufacturing sites. Driving sourcing initiatives and managing key supplier relationships to leverage and deliver best value. Enact the category end-to end procurement cycle managing supplier performance and contracts for indirect categories. Negotiate pricing, contracts, price breaks, rebates and terms directly with vendors, monitoring supplier quality and service.

Category Manager Responsibilities:
*Define, implement and maintain a long-term supplier engagement/category management strategy to drive cost improvements and Quality.
*Manage the supplier relationships for the indirect category.
*Benchmark and compare prices utilising the existing network along with external networking and market information using relevant purchasing tools and strategies.
*Ensure regular feedback Category suppliers with regard to their performance and internal perception.
*Work closely with internal stakeholders across the Groups sites to deliver timely solutions against sourcing briefs.

*Effective at interpreting complex and multiple sources of information to make decision.
*Strong Programme management skills.
*Improves processes to eliminate non-value-added activities.
*Good knowledge of category marketplace and procurement best practices.
*Demonstrable negotiation skills delivering win-win solutions.
*Logical, practical, organised. Strong IT skills.

This is a strategically focused role, and therefore requires someone of proven calibre to undertake the end to end indirect category management. The role is remotely based however, you will be required to travel to France once a month.
