Responsibility for the day to day management, development and the delivery of the Firm's human resources vision and strategy through delivery of a comprehensive human resources service and high-quality culture underpinned by the Firm's core values. You will be expected to drive and collaborate on all Firm objectives and to act as a source of human resource expertise in all aspects of HR.
You will deliver HR initiatives and solutions to promote best practice and business effectiveness in people.
You are responsible for ensuring that our people receive the best possible employee experience to help them thrive throughout their career. You will take the lead in ensuring the staff under your responsibility are mentored, developed, and helped to thrive, in addition to supporting and mentoring more junior members of the management team with your strong technical HR knowledge.
To be an ambassador of the Firm's values and have a wider awareness of how your role and department interacts with the wider firm; seeking opportunities to share best practice and commercial opportunities.
*Be responsible for all HR management and development (including recruitment and selection policy/practices, discipline, grievance, mentoring, salary and conditions, contracts, training and development, talent management, succession planning, driving performance appraisals and any other HR related issues).
*Take the lead on compensation and benefits positioning and initiatives.
*Develop and implement a Firmwide Handbook, to be rolled out across the business - ongoing review and updates required when necessary and in line with compliance regulations.
*Partner the management team to project manage organisational and procedural changes within the business area.
*Develop and implement People strategies aligned to the business objectives
*Lead the work to regularly review the Firm's talent management processes within the business areas, including performance management, resource planning and succession planning
*Provide insight and recommendations on HR initiatives that can be leveraged to strengthen business results e.g., development programmes
*Working with senior managers to uncover the talent implications e.g., any significant gaps to meet long-term objectives and create a long-term workforce plan that prioritises people related initiatives
*Monitor, measure and report on HR issues, opportunities and development plans and achievements within agreed formats and timescales
*Liaise with Partners, Directors and Managers to understand their HR requirements and ensure they are fully informed of the Firm's HR strategy
*Keep up to date with HR legislation by researching and attending necessary events, before providing suitable interpretation to Directors and Managers.
*Any other HR projects as agreed by the business/Partners
*Work with the Partners and Training team to ensure a joined-up L&D offering, ensuring training activities meet and integrate with Firm strategies and policies
*Establish and maintain appropriate systems for identifying, planning, delivering, and measuring learning and development
*Manage a training plan that details required training that is delivered within the agreed/specific timescales and ensure outcomes are appropriately measured and reported on
*Succession plan and ensure training is aligned to support the plan
*Manage the organisation and delivery of Firm onboarding sessions
*Any other training and learning and talent development initiatives as agreed by the Partners
*Managing all recruitment needs for the Firm, including implementing and continually developing a robust recruitment/selection process
*Overseeing the day-to-day management of the recruitment process, including reviewing job descriptions, advertising, updating of the Firm resource plan, candidate selection processes, arranging and attending interviews
*Managing the collation of references
*Ensuring all relevant PRW, qualifications/certificates and employee documents are received on or before employment is commenced
*Reducing and monitoring agency spend. Carry out annual reviews of PSL, ensuring the business has the most preferential rates and business partnerships, but not to compromise the candidate quality
*Understanding and adhering to our internal software and procedures
*Role model and promote and ensure best practice is followed for all compliance matters
*Leading the day-to-day management of a productive and effective department, including assigning work to team members based on their knowledge and capabilities and helping with the development of junior members of the team
*Providing high level technical advice to less experienced members of the management team.
*Proactively contribute or lead internal projects that may not be directly related to the HR function
*To have a collaborative approach with your department and the rest of the firm.
