My client is a global organisation looking to recruit a Senior Commodity Manager after a recent restructure. This is a fantastic opportunity for a proven end to end Procurement / Category / Commodity Management professional to join during a period of sustained growth. Reporting to the Category Lead you will be responsible for the procurement of a portfolio of commodities, with significant Global stakeholder engagement. This role is responsible for the entire process from Sourcing through to Contract Award, and then subsequent SRM / Contract Management.
This is a strategically focused role, and therefore requires someone of proven calibre to undertake the end to end commodity management. You will be expected to contribute to the development of the procurement function, as well as undertaking UK. European and International travel as required.
*Strategy and Planning - develop the Procurement strategy for assigned commodities; define the commodity plan; set project procurement plans in line with agreed category strategy; execute souring accordingly
*Sourcing to Contract Award - Identify, approve, set-up suitable suppliers for the commodity portfolio; set sourcing strategy and run sourcing events; review supplier proposals; negotiate, draft contracts, secure approval and award
*Contract Enablement - lead contract handover reviews with manufacturing / service & maintenance teams and Contract Managers
*Contract Management - escalation point for contract claim negotiation; support in supplier non-performance; ensure Operational Procurement teams maintain and ensure on-budget delivery of materials and services
*Supply Base Management - conduct supplier performance reviews; supplier risk management; identify value chain improvement initiatives
*Educated to degree level and/or MCIPS (or equivalent experience)
*Commodity management experience
*Able to negotiate directly with suppliers for all contract provisions
*Experience in a manufacturing or service & maintenance environment
*Good working knowledge of SAP including PO, Material Master, PIR, Contract management
*Proven ability to work in cross-functional teams
*Strong understanding of Contract Law and contract drafting for different types of Product / Services
*Appreciation of cost saving methodologies e.g. value engineering, logistics optimisation
*Strong commercial acumen and data presentation skills with an ability to influence and persuade stakeholders
*Excellent knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft office packages
*Experience and understanding of Contract Lifecycle Management tools
